These stoppers consist of a dense agglomerated cork body with natural cork discs glued to the top, or to both ends. The discs are attached using adhesives approved for use with products that come into contact with food.
This type of stopper is chemically very stable and mechanically highly resistant. They perform exceptionally well under the torsion applied during bottling and uncorking processes, and have proven to be excellent closures over time.
Because of the agglomerated cork body, the quality of a technical stopper is very consistent. However, the visual pattern of the natural cork discs used on each stopper may vary. This type of stopper is generally classified into three quality grades.
The 1+1 technical stoppers are designed for bottling wines generally intended for consumption within 2 to 3 years.
The most common format is 44 x 23.5 mm.
