Agglomerated Cork Boards (ATV – ETICS System)
ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System), also known as “capoto,” is an exterior thermal insulation system widely used in construction. It is particularly advantageous for buildings with insufficient insulation, infiltration problems, or degraded façades, while also reducing the risk of condensation by addressing thermal bridges.
This system consists of cork boards fixed to the exterior wall using adhesive mortar and mechanical fasteners. Increasingly, cork boards are replacing expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS) panels, as cork provides a more ecological, efficient, and natural solution.
Advantages of the ETICS system with cork:
Excellent thermal insulation, eliminating thermal bridges with reduced material thickness
Strong balance between cost and thermal performance
Increases building efficiency and reduces heating and cooling expenses
Does not reduce interior living space
Offers a wide variety of finishing options
Applications:
Exterior façades (residential, commercial, institutional buildings)
Energy-efficient retrofitting projects
Sustainable architecture solutions
